I got a good flight from American Airways for a decent price. You can fly into San Jose because it is closer to Arenal volcano and Tabacon hot springs. You can take local tourist bus from San Jose to Arenal for cheap but it takes a LONG time because the roads are very bad and its very high in the mountains. But worth the visit for sure. The bus is affordable and the hotels in that area rang from very expensive (the hotel at Tabacon is luxury and not the most affordable if you are looking for deals) but there are lots of cheap, reasonable places to stay in the area

About Traveling from Miami (FL) to San Fransisco (CA) by car
Traveling from Miami (FL) to San Fransisco (CA) by car?
Me and my girlfriend are looking for adventure this summer, and we had the idea to travel through the USA from the east coast to the west. We are living in Hungary (Europe) so we are not really familiar with the possibilities in the States. We plan to do this journey by car. Our first idea was to rent one, but when we saw the prices we realized that we cannot afford that. It seems the car rental companies adds extra fees when you don't return the car on the same place as it was taken from. Is there a way to avoid this extra fee somehow? Our other idea was to buy a cheap car (max $2000) in Miami and then sell it in San Fransisco, but I don't know whether it's possible for a non citizen, and also have no idea how to deal with the insurances. Any idea is welcome :). Thank you in advance, B. Peter

If you're looking at hiring a car, I'd recommend Lynx Car Hire to you from personal experience.
Answer 2 :
$2000. us will not be a very good car. You will risk breaking down on the way to CA. Look into renting or leasing a car. You will enjoy the trip. Miami is a great city to party in with a great beach. Be sure to stop at Disney and New Orleans, also Dallas TX,Los Angeles. When in San Fransisco visit Muir woods. Have fun.
Answer 3 :
I don't think buying car would be cheaper as well as easy thing to do. The distance you are planning to travel is a very large one as it is near about 3,000 miles so you need a good car to travel so that you won't spend half of the time getting repaired your car. Hiring a descent car would be helpful for you as you will not have to pay big amount of money also you can travel easily without any much hassles. You can look up to hire a good car with great mileage at http://www.pointcarhire.com/ . They offer great service at nominal rates also you are in for some good discounts as you are hiring car for longer duration

Going to Bahamas in Mid-June from Miami, FL. What's best way to get there, sea or air?

Regardless of your traveling method, beware of the niggers over there!
Answer 2 :
Sea! the water looks sooo cool! u might get sea sick but hey its worth it! CREAM OF CORN SOUP!!
Answer 3 :
What do you mean by the "best" way? It's faster by plane, but more fun by ship. You can take a cruise for about $99. from Miami or Ft. Lauderdale on "Discover" Cruises or one of a couple of other ones.
Answer 4 :
If you're looking for transportation to the Bahamas in order to stay there, the passenger ferry service 'Cloud X' is no longer in operation. I don't know if there's another one, but I doubt it. There is a one-day cruise a friend took, and they may still be operating. I'll post their website in the source box. I think it says from $79 each way and it takes about 3 1/2 hours. You can take a cruise ship. There are two night cruises from Miami for as little as $279 per person for an interior stateroom. And really, you only get half of what you paid for, BUT you have to have permission prior to sailing to just get off in Nassau. They're supposed to return with the same people they left with unless something medical or illegal happens. So, if you want to get there in less than 3 hours, you'll have to fly. You can do so in an hour for as little as $87 roundtrip on Bahamasair. Have a great trip! And even if you're not staying there, if you're going to be in Nassau, check out the Atlantis Resort...they have one of the largest aquariums there with a Manta Ray!!! Seriously cool... So, if you have the time, and the one day cruises are still going, I would say take that...because the water is incredible and any opportunity I had to get out to sea, I would take...especially near the Caribbean...
Answer 5 :
From Miami to Freeport or Nassau is LESS THAN 100 MILES... take the boat, you will enjoy it longer.
Answer 6 :
Depends on where in the bahamas you are going;. If you are going to Freeport.. you have a choice of the Discovery cruise or Flying. Of course, flying is easier and quicker and you have more options. Discovery goes out of Ft lauderdale.. If you are going to Nasau, then there are many cruises, from Miami, The only one that will allow you to get off and stay in a hotel is Bahamas celebration. - They are also out of Ft Lauderdale (everglades) http://www.bahamascelebration.com/Celebration-Cruise-Line-Cruise-Resort-Stay.html If you are heading to the out islands.. flying is your only option
